About The Role
Evernow is seeking an experienced Medical Director to serve as the organization’s external medical authority and senior clinical advisor. This role provides strategic medical leadership, guidance and oversight related to clinical standards, support for compliance and quality programs, and representation of Evernow in select partnerships and public-facing medical discussions.This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement. The Medical Director does not provide routine direct patient care as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
Medical Leadership & Clinical Standards
- Advise on the development, refinement, and oversight of Evernow’s clinical protocols and guidelines
- Ensure clinical guidance remains evidence-based and menopause-first
- Provide medical input on new or evolving service offerings related to menopause care
External Representation & Partnerships
- Serve as Evernow’s primary medical spokesperson, as appropriate
- Participate in and support partnership discussions, contract-related medical conversations, and employer or enterprise engagements
- Represent Evernow in panels, interviews, conferences, and strategic marketing initiatives
- Review and approve external medical messaging for clinical accuracy and positioning
Compliance, Quality & Risk Oversight
- Participate in Evernow’s compliance and quality programs, including monthly chart reviews that may include escalations or high-risk cases
- Review and provide medical input on incident reports and adverse events
- Provide medical guidance on corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives
- Serve as senior medical escalation for significant clinical or safety concerns
Medical Escalation Team (MET) Participation
- Participate in Evernow’s Medical Escalation Team (MET) consult process by reviewing and responding to provider-submitted clinical questions, escalations, and curbside consults
- Provide timely medical guidance to support safe, evidence-based clinical decision-making, with responses generally expected within twenty-four (24) hours
- Participation is advisory in nature and does not include routine direct patient care or patient outreach
- MET coverage may be shared with the Associate Medical Director, with availability maintained for higher-risk or complex escalations
Provider Hiring & Clinical Governance
- Participate in medical interviews for senior providers and collaborating physicians
- Provide advisory medical input on provider hiring decisions
Additional Details
- Estimated Time Commitment: Engagement is anticipated to average 10 hours per week or less, though time may fluctuate based on scope and demand. This estimate is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a guaranteed or fixed schedule.
- Authority & Governance: The Medical Director holds medical leadership authority for Evernow clinical standards. Final legal accountability may reside with the Professional Corporation owner where required by law.
- Exclusions: This role does not include routine direct patient care, provider scheduling, operational management, or employment supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- MD or DO with board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (required)
- Active, unrestricted medical license in good standing
- MSCP certification (required or willingness to obtain within an agreed timeframe)
- Demonstrated menopause-focused clinical expertise
- Experience representing medical organizations externally (e.g., partnerships, panels, media)
- Working knowledge of longevity-adjacent care models
