Progesterone FAQs
Progesterone is a hormone that naturally exists in the body and is often used in hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to balance the effects of estrogen and reduce the risk of endometrial hyperplasia while addressing symptoms such as hot flashes, mood swings, and irregular bleeding. It is a required part of HT if you still have a uterus.
Progesterone works by opposing the effects of estrogen on the uterine lining. When taken with estrogen therapy, it helps prevent endometrial overgrowth, which can lead to abnormal bleeding or increase the risk of uterine cancer.
Yes. The progesterone prescribed through Evernow is FDA-approved and includes generic equivalents of Provera.
Most people see early signs of regrowth within 3–6 months. Full results may take up to a year, depending on your hair cycle and consistency of use.
Our providers prescribe both branded and generic forms of oral progesterone based on your needs, insurance coverage and preferences. The brands currently offered on Evernow are the Arabindo progesterone tablets, Prometrium progesterone tablets, and Xiromed progesterone tablets. If you have specific preferences or concerns regarding your medications, please raise them with your Evernow provider.
